I’ve spent most of my life making photographs, mainly to help me remember details of what I’ve seen when they would otherwise have disappeared from my memory.
My interest in photography began as a child with a plastic camera and grew into a passion when I discovered the magic of developing and printing from black and white film. Over time, advances in technology have changed the processes I follow but the art, science and practice of recording with light continues to fascinate me.
After 25 years as a video producer I switched careers to follow my ambition to become a freelance photographer and now specialise in portraiture but my personal projects also include architectural and street photography. I mostly use Canon 5D Mk II bodies with a range of L-series lenses, as well as Elinchrom and Lastolite studio and location flash equipment where necessary.
From time to time I exhibit images to gather critical feedback and to try to inspire others to look more closely at the people and the world around them.
In 2009 I was awarded the distinction of Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS).
On occasion I continue to produce video content for corporate clients.
I currently live in Essex but I work a lot in London and often travel internationally on assignments.
I have Public Liability cover of £2,000,000 and Professional Indemnity cover of £75,000.
